(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins starting rotation took another hit over the weekend. The team placed right-hander Zebby Matthews on the 15-day injured list on Sunday.
Matthews is dealing with a shoulder strain, and he said he believes it will be a short-term injury. The Twins just lost ace Pablo Lopez for at least two months after a setback last week. Matthews is 1-1 with a 5.21 ERA in four starts this season.
Minnesota is expected to re-call Simeon Woods-Richardson from Triple-A St. Paul to fill the hole in the rotation.
