Twins ride pitching gem to win over Mariners

The Minnesota Twins shutout the Seattle Mariners 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Joe Ryan struck out eight batters over six scoreless innings en route to earning the win. Louie Varland, Griffin Jax, and Jhoan Duran each tossed a shutout inning out of the bullpen. Varland and Jax earned holds while Duran tallied his 11th save of the season.

Kody Clemens hit a solo home run, his ninth of the season. Willi Castro also drove in a run.

The Twins and Mariners will wrap up their series on Thursday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 12:10 p.m. and game coverage available nationally on MLB Network Minnesota will send Simeon Woods-Richardson to the bump while Seattle counters with Emerson Hancock.
