The Minnesota Twins dropped their series rubber match 5-0 to the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday afternoon.
Pablo Lopez struggled giving up four runs on seven hits over five innings while being tagged with the loss. Cole Sands and Jorge Alcala each tossed a shutout inning in relief while Kody Funderburk gave up a run in an inning out of the bullpen.
Minnesota recorded six hits and a walk while leaving seven runners on base in the loss.
The Twins now have an off day to travel cross country for a weekend series in Seattle. They will battle the Mariners beginning on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 9:10 p.m. Zebby Matthews is scheduled to get the start for Minnesota while Bryan Woo counters for Seattle.
