The Minnesota Twins were shutout by the Miami Marlins 2-0 in their series opener on Tuesday night.
Joe Ryan only gave up one run over seven innings, but was still tagged with his fourth loss of the season. Louie Varland gave up one run in a single inning out of the bullpen.
The Twins only totaled three baserunners on two hits and one walk.
Minnesota and Miami will square off again on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 5:40 p.m. Simeon Woods-Richardson will be on the mound for the Twins with Janson Junk countering for the Marlins.
