Twins win series rubber match in Detroit

The Minnesota Twins downed the Detroit Tigers 9-4 in their series rubber match on Wednesday afternoon.

Pierson Ohl gave up four runs over 2 ⅔ innings in a no-decision. Thomas Hatch threw 4 ⅓ shutout innings in relief, earning the win. Kody Funderburk and Brooks Kriske each tossed a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

Luke Keaschall led the offense with three RBI. Alan Roden, Brooks Lee, and Austin Martin each hit a solo home run. Ryan Jeffers and Mickey Gasper added an RBI apiece.

The Twins are now off on Thursday before returning home to Target Field for a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals beginning at 7:10 p.m. on Friday night. Joe Ryan is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota with Noah Cameron countering for Kansas City.
