The Minnesota Vikings struggled in a 22-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in their 2025 home opener on Sunday Night Football.
JJ McCarthy completed 11-of-21 passes for 158 yards and two interceptions. McCarthy also fumbled three times, losing one of them. Myles Price also lost a fumble.
Justin Jefferson caught three passes for 81 yards. Jefferson tied Larry Fitzgerald as the youngest player in NFL history to 500 career receptions.
Ivan Pace Jr. and Theo Jackson tallied nine tackles apiece for the Minnesota defense. Byron Murphy Jr. and Jonathan Allen added seven tackles apiece.
Minnesota fell to 1-1 on the season with the loss. The Vikings will now welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to US Bank Stadium on Sunday, September 21 with kickoff scheduled for noon and game coverage available on CBS.
