Vikings to play 49ers in Mexico City in November

The Minnesota Vikings will be heading south to Mexico during the upcoming 2026 season. On Wednesday, the NFL announced that the Vikings will play in Mexico City for the first time in franchise history. Minnesota will be squaring off with the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers played in the NFL’s first ever regular season game in Mexico on October 2, 2005… A 31-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals in front of 103,467 fans. The Vikings currently have a 5-1 record in regular season international games.

The game will be played on Sunday, November 22 as NBC’s Sunday Night Football Week 11 game of the week. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:20 p.m.

The Minnesota Vikings’ full 2026 schedule will be released on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.
