Vikings walk-off Raiders on Reichard FG in preseason opener

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings 2024 draft class dazzled as the Purple beat the Raiders 24-23 in a preseason game at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday.

J.J. McCarthy finished his unofficial Vikings debut by completing 11 of his 17 pass attempts for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Fellow first round pick Dallas Turner had a sack in the victory, as did seventh rounder Levi Drake Rodriguez and undrafted rookie Bo Richter. Sixth-round kicker Will Reichard knocked through a 38-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Vikings won their first preseason game since 2019, ending a 10-game preseason losing streak. They’ll take on the Browns this Saturday in Cleveland.
