On Monday, June 2 Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Bill Guerin, announced that the club is bringing back Forward Marcus Johansson. The deal is for one season and worth $800,000.
The 34-year-old played in 72 games with Minnesota this past season recording 34 total points on 11 goals and 23 assists. He also recorded his 500th career NHL point on an assist against the Detroit Red Wings on February 22, 2025. During the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoff appearance he recorded two assists in five games.
During his NHL career, Johansson has played in 983 games over 15 seasons between Washington, New Jersey, Boston, Buffalo, Seattle, and Minnesota. He owns 517 career points with 185 goals and 332 assists. Johansson has played in 114 career Stanley Cup Playoff games where he’s recorded 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 total points.
The new contract will keep Johansson in a Wild sweater through the 2025-26 season.
