BISMARCK, ND — New students across North Dakota are more likely to have less vaccinations after the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is according to research conducted by the state Department of Health and Human Services Immunization Dashboard. In the 2021/2022 school year, 3.34% of Kindergarten students were exempt across the state due to Personal Beliefs compared to 4.49% in the 2023/2024. The exemptions were across all mandatory vaccinations, including MMR, Polio, Chickenpox. However, the exemption rates dipped slightly for 7th and 11th graders.
