Will We Break Record High temperatures? Warmth Continues Then Slightly Cooler... Possible snow?

A very nice and sunny day today with a moderate breeze between 10-25mph, we will continue to see breezy conditions over the next couple of days. The highest temperature recorded on this date is 65, we will be close to this record but we will fall just short with a high of 60. Monday and Tuesday look to be our best shots at breaking high temperatures. We are forecasting a high of 58 on Monday which would break the record by 7 degrees! Then for Tuesday a high in the low 60's, which again would break the past record of 58. How long will this "Heat Wave" continue? Temperatures will continue to be above average for the first half of March but a bit cooler with highs in the 30's to 40's. We could see a couple of 50's again come mid-March.

As mentioned earlier in past articles March looks to have more of an active weather pattern. On this coming Tuesday, low-pressure will more just to our north which may bring a slight chance for light rain showers. Our main focus is on Wednesday as a second low moves northeast from Colorado. This second system has low certainty on the exact placement and possible impacts due to many variations in computer model forecast guidance. A couple of possible outcomes greatly depend on the progression of this low/upper-level short wave. A more progressive low/wave would dig further to the south and minimize possible precipitation impacts, whereas a less progressive low would lift further to the north due to a strong mid-level southwest flow which would increase our possible precipitation and impacts. Stay tuned for more information on this Colorado low tomorrow and Tuesday as certainty increases on which outcome is more likely. (see latest 3/7/21 12Z GFS run above for Wednesday).
