Summer warmth returns, promising look for rain next week

It's been a long hot and dry summer!  F/M has had 24 days of 90+ temps.  This ranks 5th.  If you are wondering what is #1?   Well, back in 1936, we had 35 days of 90+ during the summer and in 1988 we had 34 days of 90+ temps. Now with summer winding down, I doubt we will see #1 reached but we will get to #4 which is quite impressive.  Now the good news.  All long range models are pointing to a widespread 1/2" to 1" of rain over the next 10 days with the majority of that falling Wed/Thu of next week.  We really need the rain and it finally looks like this will happen.  In fact, a wetter than normal pattern looks to be setting up from mid month through the end of the month.
