The general weather pattern for the Northern plains has finally broken. A new, wetter pattern will take over for the next 2-3 weeks. As a large heat dome builds to our south, the overall track of our storm systems has shifted north as it rides along the heat dome that has taken over the central portion of the plains. Over the next 2-3 weeks will see more chances for much-needed rainfall with likely 2-3 days a week for chances of rain and thunderstorms!!!
Along with the more active and, wet pattern will come cooler temperatures but don't worry... if you love the heat, we will still see a few days of summer heat through September. Mild weather through our coming weekend with high temperatures in the mid/upper 60's Thursday warming into the mid 70's over the weekend.
Wednesday night will have a slight chance for some scattered isolated showers and thundershowers, but most likely on Thursday afternoon with scattered showers and thunderstorms pushing in from the west. Those showers and storms will push into Friday morning... we could see an additional storm/shower redevelop in the afternoon but not certain on that actually playing out. There is another good chance of showers and storms coming late Saturday into Sunday morning. Then through the afternoon on Sunday improving conditions. Will see a break from the rain at the start of next week with temps in the 70's to the low 80's before another chance for more rain coming at the end of next week.
