Dangerously Cold Wind Chills

Once again, we are bitterly cold today with highs below 0 and wind from the north between 10-20 mph, creating wind chills near -30 this afternoon. A windchill advisory is in effect through today. Tonight the windchill advisory is replaced with a windchill warning until Tuesday at noon. As skies remain mostly clear tonight, the wind will lighten up as temperatures plunge towards -22. Dangerously cold tonight as wind chills dip again into the -35 to -45 range. Another cold day will follow on Tuesday with highs below 0 near -6, with wind chills near -30 Tuesday afternoon. The winds will begin to pick up again overnight Tuesday into Wednesday between 15-25 mph, gusting up to 35 at times, creating periods of patchy blowing snow. The temperature will warm into the mid and upper 20's, helping to thaw out the roads, but it will feel colder from the wind. In addition, there is a slight chance for a couple of light snow showers/flurries late Wednesday into Wednesday night.

Tuesday temperatures take a dip into the teens, and winds remain breezy, which may again produce some patch blowing or drifting snow. Through the rest of January, it looks like high temperatures stay in the teens and 20's. But what does February look like? According to the LRC, it looks like February could be a snowy month.
