Winter Storm Warning, Blizzard Conditions South until 6:00 PM 2/22

A winter storm warning remains until 6:00 PM along the I-94 corridor, over into Minnesota for blowing snow. To the north, a winter weather advisory for blowing snow. A blizzard warning has been issued to our south in the southern valley until 6:00 PM. Heavy snowfall is done for the F/M area, but a few light snow showers are still possible through this morning into the early afternoon before snow showers end. Any accumulations will be light, less than a half-inch with really nothing to our north. A heavier band of snow will fall just to our south and east. A band of 2-4+" will track from northeastern South Dakota, towards Fergus Falls, into central Minnesota this morning and early afternoon. 

Conditions south of Fargo will See the worst conditions. A blizzard warning remains in effect until 6:00 PM this evening. An additional 1-2 inches of snow is possible, adding to blowing snow! Conditions within the blizzard warning will have the worst driving conditions with drastically reduced to near-zero visibility. To our south, I-29 from Fargo to the South Dakota border is closed, I-94 from Fargo to Jamestown is also closed. Blowing snow will be the main issue for the rest of today. North winds between 20-35 mph will produce areas of drastically reduced visibility, scatter snowdrifts, partially snow-covered, and slippery roads. Plan on difficult driving conditions for the rest of today. Gradually better conditions as you go north and slowly improving. Overnight the winds lighten up 10-25 mph tonight and 5-15 mph overnight. Then the main concern moves towards dangerous wind chills 25-40 below even colder north -50. A wind chill warning and advisory are in effect until 12:00 PM Wednesday. It is likely will see those expand and move south as other warnings and advisories expire.

Cold weather sticks around through the rest of the week, but with lighter winds!
