Blowing Snow And Dangerously Cold

Dangerous cold will be setting in for the next couple of days with brutal wind chills. Blowing snow will produce reduced visibility this evening but gradually improve into tonight. A blizzard warning remains in effect until 9:00 PM south of the F/M metro. A winter storm warning is also in effect for Fargo and east in Minnesota until 9:00 PM. Blowing snow will however continue through the evening producing limited visibility.

As wind lightens up later this evening into tonight, blowing snow will diminish. Tonight temperatures drop between 15-20 below, with wind chills between 30-50 below. Frostbite can set in as little as five minutes to exposed skin at -45! Therefore wind chill warning is in effect until noon Wednesday, but it will likely be extended or turned over to a wind chill advisory for Wednesday night. Cold air will sit over us through the rest of the week, but the sunshine returns. Sunny skies for Wednesday and Thursday with light winds 5-10 mph, but with highs remaining just below zero near -3 and overnight lows near -20 will see wind chills 15-30 below through the afternoons and 25-50 below overnight and in the morning. Some relief will arrive by Saturday though, as temperatures warm back into the 20's for a day.
