Another Winter Weather Advisory Then A Following Storm Saturday

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect from 6:00 am Thursday morning through midnight 12:00 am Friday. Another storm is on track to hit Saturday with strong winds into Sunday causing reduced visibility from blowing snow.

Through Thursday mid-morning/early afternoon, light snow will start to push into eastern North Dakota and pick up into the afternoon. Wind will be around 10-20 mph from the ENE creating some areas of drifting snow, mainly in the open country with reduced visibility from falling snow. Snow will wind down overnight Thursday with a general 1-3 inches of snow, although due to potential banding, localized amounts could reach the 4-6 inch range, most of us will see an inch or two. Attached below are a couple of models on expected snowfall amounts by Friday morning.

Another storm system is on track to hit Saturday with strong winds between 15-30 mph from the SE turning from the NNW Overnight and stretching into Sunday, gusts could be higher. Travel will likely be dangerous from drastically reduced visibility due to falling, blowing, and drifting snow throughout the day of Saturday, overnight, and into Sunday afternoon. Through Saturday morning snow will push into the area and taper off overnight into Sunday morning. It will be windy through the day of Saturday from the SSE 15-30 mph, lightening up after dark then picking back up from the NNW Overnight west of the valley, early Sunday morning within the valley, and mid-morning/afternoon east of the valley. The wind won't go light until Sunday night.

Currently, the track of this storm is not concrete and may "wobble a little bit" attached below images 3 and 4 is the expected snowfall by Sunday afternoon. This does include expected snowfall from Thursday's system. Snow totals from Saturday's system are uncertain at this time (Wednesday afternoon) and will likely change over the next couple of days as more confidence is obtained on the track and intensity of the storm system.
