LRC early summer outlook

WHERE’S SPRING??    I’ve been asked this questions many times already.  The short answer is, we have to wait til May.  We have another storm to deal with in the short term.  This will bring a round of rain and storms to the area tonight into Wed. morning.   Part 2 of the storm is expected to bring snow to the area.  We could see anywhere from 1-4″ Thursday night into Friday.   Will keep a close eye on that storm as Friday morning could turn slippery.   With such a chilly spring, you have to wonder will this carry out into the summer months?

I’ve attached the LATEST LRC model expectations.    You can see through late June temps are expected to average below normal for the valley with much below normal temps to our west.   Looking further out using the LRC, temps will moderate through July (duh, right?) but overall pattern is at or slightly below normal temps from valley west and above normal temps east.   Precip should average above normal.
