What do the following cities have in common: Nashville, Memphis, Omaha, Des Moines, Indianapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Little Rock??? They ALL have had more snow than FARGO during the month of January!!! Incredible stat for sure. Notice the attached map and how the cold knifes all the way down to the gulf coast!! Freeze warnings are in effect all the way to New Orleans!! Although, it's not record breaking cold for the F/M area, it is dangerous though with wind chills around -25 to -40 below. It will be interesting to see how intense this will be when it cycles back toward the end of February!! The good news is that a warm up is on schedule according to the LRC starting Sunday and lasting most of next week. LRC has a storm later next week but our models are not yet catching onto it......YET!
