Strong to severe storms are expected to develop late this afternoon into the evening hours to our south over SD then spread into lakes country. SPC (storm prediction center) has highlighted SD and MN in a Moderate risk for severe weather. Although F/M area is in a slight risk
I do believe most of the activity will remain to our south. Here is a “snapshot” of one of our short range models showing the severe storms to our south approaching the Twin Cities between 10pm and overnight:
