A strong storm in southern Canada will be the cause of some severe storms developing and racing across the N. Plains as we head into tonight. The storm prediction center (SPC) has put the Dakota’s and far Western MN. in an enhanced risk for severe weather.
Storms will develop out in the west central part of ND this evening:
The main threat as the storms develop out west will be large hail and damaging winds….northeast ND is under a slightly higher risk for a few isolated tornadoes. By the time we get toward midnight, the storms will be approaching the Valley:
The main threat as the storms approach the Valley will be damaging winds 70+ mph. The storms will weaken as they push into lakes country.
If you have any travel plans going north into S. Canada, Environmental Canada (National weather service of Canada) has issued an EXTREME alert for severe weather for S. Manitoba into SE Saskatchewan.
