Winter Weather Advisory….snow and wind on the way

Another clipper system is on the way as we head into Saturday and Sunday.  Snow will overspread the Valley and into Lakes country by late in the day on Saturday.  Snow will continue Saturday night into Sunday morning.  We will see wind with this clipper system too.  Initially winds will be out of the south ahead of the clipper system then changing to the NW Saturday night into Sunday producing blowing snow.  Winds aren’t expected to be as strong as the last few systems so although blowing snow WILL be an issue, i’m not foreseeing it as a MAJOR issue.   If you have travel plans going west, snow will start earlier and mix with freezing rain in the central and western parts of the state.  I’m expecting ALL snow here in the Valley and eastward beginning mid to late afternoon and ending Sunday morning.   Approx. 1-3″ is likely.  Here’s what a few various models are predicting for snowfall:

Most models are in good agreement with around 1-3″   Have a safe weekend and enjoy the “warmer” temps.
