Republican David Hann ends campaign for Minnesota Senate

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – Former Republican Party of Minnesota Chair and Minnesota Senate Minority Leader David Hann has suspended his campaign for Senate.

Hann didn’t give a reason for dropping out of the race in a statement on social media nor did he endorse another candidate.

“Even as I share today that I am suspending my campaign, I have hope that Minnesotans will elect common sense, conservative leadership in November,” Hann wrote.

In a KSTP/Survey USA Today poll released February 3, Hann received 2% support from the 650 respondents.

The remaining candidates for Minnesota’s open Senate seat includes Republicans including former sports broadcaster Michele Tafoya, retired Navy SEAL Adam Schwarze, former NBA player Royce White. Democrats running include Congresswoman Angie Craig and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan.

Minnesota’s primary day is August 11.
