MOORHEAD, MINN. – Moorhead Police say a bear has been sighted in the city.
“Moorhead PD has received multiple reports of a black bear moving through the MSUM and Concordia neighborhoods,” the department said just before 8 a.m. via social media. “At this time, the bear has not shown any aggressive behavior.”
A short time later, it was noted to have been sighted in the Morningside neighborhood.
Police say the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources advised the department that they will respond ‘if the bear becomes a danger to the public.”
The public is asked to keep a safe distance, bring pets indoors and avoid approaching or attempting to follow the animal. Call Moorhead Police at 701-451-7660 if the bear begins acting aggressively or poses an immediate risk.
