(Casselton, ND) -- One person has died after reported gunshots at a Casselton apartment complex early Monday morning.
Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner tells WDAY Radio that deputies responded to the 15568 37th Street Southeast, just off I-94 for a reported gunshot call. The responsible party called dispatch to report that he had shot someone.
A deputy in the area responded immediately and was able to detain the alleged suspect and began life saving measures on the victim. Once Casselton Ambulance arrived on scene, they took over emergency medical care and provided transportation to a metro area hospital, where the male victim would then pass away.
Multiple deputies remain on-site investigating this incident. The suspect does remain in custody, and there is no further danger to the public at this time. Charges are pending.
