Two Moorhead men arrested after high speed chase

(Moorhead, MN) --Two men were arrested around midnight Tuesday after leading Clay County Deputies and other law enforcement officers on a high speed chase.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a deputy first attempted to pull over the driver near the intersection of HWY 75 and 160th Avenue South, after it appeared some of the lights on the car were not operating properly.

A high-speed chase then ensued on HWY 75 southbound. During the chase, deputies say the suspects threw items from the car including a floor jack and a propane tank.  The suspect's vehicle at times reached speeds upwards of 100 mph.   Eventually a deputy conducted a "PIT maneuver" to bring the vehicle to a stop.

The driver arrested is identified as 24-year-old Moorhead resident Terrell Jones.  He is facing charges including Felony Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, 2nd Degree Assault, and Felon in Possession of Ammunition.

The passenger who was arrested is identified as 29-year-old Moorhead resident Christopher Cloud. He is charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

Minnesota State Troopers and the Moorhead Police Department assisted in the chase.
