(Fargo, ND) -- A very generous, anonymous donation is embodying the holiday spirit here in Fargo.

On Thursday, the Salvation Army in Downtown Fargo got a $5,000 donation courtesy of a man who reportedly wanted his identity to remain unknown.

"The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is remarkably thankful for an anonymous gentleman that came to the downtown building and donated $5,000 in cash," said Volunteer and Public Relations Coordinator for the Fargo Salvation Army Kristi Simmons. "He said that he didn’t want to draw extra attention to any of the kettles in buildings, so he decided to come straight to our office. He would not leave his name, but he did leave an impression on the staff that were there to witness his generosity."

The Red Kettle campaign does continue through the Holiday season, with several locations across Fargo-Moorhead where you can also donate to help those less fortunate and in need.
