(Jamestown, ND) -- A Jamestown woman is facing five-and-a-half years in prison after assaulting a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper.

Amanda Leavy pled guilty to several charges in February. Court records say Leavy attempted to drive away from a rest stop while being questioned as a DUI suspect with NDHP Trooper Jon Skalicky partially in the vehicle. She then fought with and tried to disarm the trooper.

Leavy will be eligible for parole after she's served 85 percent of her aggravated assault sentence. Her sentences for all other charges will run concurrently.
