Fargo Public Schools announces new principal for Ben Franklin Middle School

(Fargo, ND) -- A new principal has been selected for Ben Franklin Middle School.

Fargo Public Schools announced Kirstin Hanson as the new principal for Ben Franklin Middle School. Hanson holds a Bachelor of Science in social sciences from Black Hills State University and a Master's in Education Administration from South Dakota State University. She first began her career in education on the Rosebud Indian Reservation at Todd County Middle School as an eighth grade social studies teacher. She was also a social studies, reading, and math teacher in the Winner, South Dakota school district. Hanson has administrative experience at Colome Elementary School and Winner High School. She currently serves as the assistant principal at Rapid Valley Elementary School in Rapid City, South Dakota. 

Hanson will assume the position on July 1st. She will be taking the place of current principal Shane Martin, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
