(Fargo, ND) -- Times are tough for many employers across the region, and the Red River Regional Dispatch Center is no different.
Director Mary Phillippi told WDAY Radio's Bonnie and Friends that staffing is a major issue facing her team in the midst of rising call rates and lack of space at their current facility.
"At full staff we'd have 43 people," said Phillippi. "We aren't quite there yet. The best part is though we do pay for your training if you want to do this."
Phillippi says as far as the type of person they need on staff, it would preferably be someone who is upbeat and can multi-task.
As for the possibility of a new workspace, the RRRDC Director says planning is still in its 'infant stages'.
"We are just out of room when it comes to what we need to do. We need more space to handle more stations for the increase in dispatchers needed since call rates are through the roof," said Phillippi.
The Cass County Commission is working on a plan for a new facility, with hopes to bring that forward to the public soon.
