(Fargo, ND) -- An iconic mural in downtown Fargo's Robert's Alley is slated to be replaced.

The Fargo postcard in Robert's Alley, located behind Daily's Market and Robert's Commons Parking Garage, will be replaced with a refreshed design at the end of July. Since being installed in September of 2018, the mural has been featured in numerous publications and television shows and has become a favorite photo background for locals and visitors.

"The Fargo postcard was something we designed and had installed for folks to use as a tool to show off being in Fargo," says Andrew Young, Creative Director of Abovo, the design agency responsible for the mural's installation. "We've been so proud to watch it used for exactly that over the last four years."

The alley wall isn't the only place people have been able to see the mural, though, says Young.

"We call it the Fargo postcard, as we literally mean a postcard," Young explains. "When it was installed, we printed matching postcards that have been available for sale in Daily's Market."

Allyson Gaughan, Abovo’s graphic designer behind the mural's current and new design, mentioned the new design will feel "very familiar."

"The new design and postcard respect the current mural people love and expect to see in the alley," says Gaughan. "It will continue to tie in Fargo landmarks that both showcase the area’s history and its evolutions and changes.”

"The new mural will still be a perfect photo background for sharing your Fargo and North Dakota pride,” says Young.

The new artwork will be installed in late July or early August. You can find out more information by clicking here.
