(West Fargo, ND) -- Despite some concern from area homeowners, Junkyard Brewing has officially purchased the old Bell Bank building on Sheyenne Street and will be opening a second location in West Fargo.

The move was made official during the West Fargo City Commission meeting Tuesday evening.

Junkyard then took to social media to make the announcement official, while also detailing what you can expect from the business as work begins to convert the old bank building into West Fargo's newest taproom and brewery.

"The new taproom renderings are a sight to behold with plenty of outdoor patio seating, including a rooftop patio," said Ownership in a post to the businesses Facebook page. "Inside, you'll find a bar on the main floor and another bar on the second story serving the second-floor seating and rooftop patio. The second-floor seating will overlook a two-story central atrium with the main bar and seating below. And, the main bar will wrap around the old bank vault that will soon become our beer keg cooler."

Recently, WDAY Radio spoke with some residents and business owners around 'The Yards', with results being a mixed bag on who likes and dislikes the move. While several homeowners expressed concerns over a taproom moving in just a few doors down, many of the business owners nearby supported the move since it would bring more foot-traffic and business to the growing section of the city.

So when will you be able to stop by and have a drink? Junkyard says they hope to begin renovations in March, with a goal to open as soon as the Fall this year.
