(Fargo, ND) -- A little over a week after North Dakota's only down syndrome achievement center suffered another building setback, some good news is coming down the line.

GiGi's Playhouse Fargo Executive Director Heather Lorenzen says plans are in place to get things all fixed up after some significant water damage inside the newly re-built center.

"The water damaged about 85% of our flooring in the center," said Lorenzen while speaking with WDAY Radio's Bonnie and Friends Thursday morning. "That means we have to place nearly all of our flooring inside, which is going to take some time."

Heather says the good news is that support continues to pour in from the community in the wake of another unfortunate setback for the facility, which just had a grand re-opening back in October nearly a year and a half after a fire burned the building to the ground.

"I feel truly blessed in this position thanks to this awesome community and its support for us and what we do at GiGi's", said Lorenzen.

As far as a timeline goes for the fixes, Heather says the goal is to re-open the facility by April 1st. She adds that GiGi's will send out notifications to those who use the center with updates as the process continues.
