(Mentor, MN) -- A home was evacuated in Mentor after authorities say a 6,000 gallon propane tank was leaking at a nearby gas station.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says they responded to reports of the propane leak at 10:48 p.m. on Monday. A brief investigation led to the discovery of a leaking 6,000 gallon propane tank. Out of an abundance of caution, authorities say they evacuated a home near the Solar Gas Yard gas station for a brief period of time. Deputies watched the propane tank leak until empty and moved to shut the valves once it was determined safe to do so.

Authorities say there is no danger to the public.
