Deputy pursuit ends with suspect car crashing into parked vehicle

Update:  A man is facing charges after crashing into a parked car at a high rate of speed while fleeing a Cass County Sheriff's Deputy in Fargo Sunday night.  It happened in the 3600 block of 18th St. S. at around 8 p.m.

The Sheriff's Office says the deputy tried to stop 40-year old Jens Tinjum for reckless driving, but he took off and crashed into a parked car. They say Tinjum displayed signs of impairment and was arrested on multiple charges, including Felony Reckless Endangerment, Felony Fleeing and DUI.  He was also cited for going 72 mph in a 25 mph zone, disregarding a stop sign and not having insurance. 

 

(Fargo, ND) -- A suspect leading a Cass County Sheriff's Deputy on a high-speed chase crashed into a parked car in Fargo Sunday night.

The collision happened around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of 18th St. S and 37th Avenue S.

No one was in the parked car when it was struck.

Fargo police, additional deputies and a fire crew responded to the scene.

The people in the car leading the chase did not appear to be at the scene as of 8:15 p.m.
