GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Leaders at the University of North Dakota have notified the campus community of an apparent suicide on the campus earlier this week.
Spokesman David Dodds confirmed to Flag Family News that a student death was reported on campus Monday in the Brannon residence hall.
“The cause has been determined to be an apparent suicide,” Dodds told Flag Family News in an email.
Flag Family News has obtained a copy of a campuswide email that has identified the student as Brody Counts, of Delaware, Ohio. The university said he was a first-year student pursuing majors in History and Secondary Education.
“Brody’s passing is a huge loss for his family, friends and the UND community,” the email read. “Please take some time to remember the impact Brody had on our campus and, whenever possible, come together to support one another.”
