(Phoenix, AZ) -- About half of all student debt in the U.S. belongs to graduate students.
That's according to a recent report from Brookings, which says the total of Americans' student debt is up to more than one-point-seven trillion dollars.
Meantime, graduate students make up only 25-percent of student loan borrowers. The average debt for a person with a master's degree is about 71-thousand dollars.
As for those with a law degree, that number comes in over 145-thousand, while pursuing medicine racked up debt of more than 201-thousand-dollars.
