Israeli forces expanding ground invasion of Gaza strip into "new battle zone"

(Tel Aviv, Israel) -- Israel is expanding its ground invasion into refugee camps in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces are calling the region a "new battle zone" as their war with Hamas rages on. In Northern Gaza, the IDF gave reporters a tour of what it says is the largest tunnel used by Hamas that was discovered so far. This all comes as a communications blackout has impacted most of the Gaza Strip, which is causing issues when trying to help Palestinians injured in the fighting. The Gaza Health Ministry says more than 20,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict, when Hamas militants carried out a series of surprise attacks inside Israel and killed around 1,200 people.

Israeli officials also say 153 soldiers have died since the fighting started.
