(WDAY Radio) -- Five states held presidential primaries Tuesday.

President Biden and Donald Trump have already secured the nominations of their respective parties and easily won all five states. With that, the attention shifted to a handful of down-ballot races. In Ohio, Trump-backed Bernie Moreno is the projected winner of the GOP nomination for Senate as he looks to unseat Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in November. The Senate race is key if Republicans want to take control of the chamber next year.  In California, GOP frontrunner Vince Fong, also backed by the former president, will advance to the special election with over 40% of the votes for the seat of interim replacement for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
