(Falcon Heights, MN) -- Minnesota State Fair officials say they are reinstating their police department.
General manager Jerry Hammer says the fair's law enforcement contract with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office ends December 31st. RCSO Commander Ron Knafla will take on a new role at the beginning of 2022 as the State Fair's chief of police.
Hammer says the fair will continue partnerships with law enforcement agencies, security contractors, and medical services providers to ensure public safety.
