(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Minneapolis teachers strike is entering a new week.

Negotiations continued over the weekend, with the school district bringing a new offer that they say represents a "financial limit." Board Treasurer Kimberly Caprini says the district's latest proposal "significantly increases" spending, with about a nine-percent wage increase for support staff over two years and a nearly seven-and-a-half-percent raise in teacher salaries. The offer also includes class size limits in "highest need" schools and a one-time three-million dollar investment in mental health supports for students.

Classes are canceled today and schools will remain closed until an agreement is reached.
