Minnesota LGBTQ advocacy group issues North Dakota travel warning

(Fargo, ND) -- The advocacy group Outfront Minnesota has issued a warning for members of the LGBTQ community traveling to North Dakota.  

"North Dakota specifically, with, you know, a set of, a number of different anti-LGBTQ laws that were passed this year, has raised concerns for you know safety and well-being of LGBTQ folks within the state and those who might be traveling there," said the group's Executive Director, Kat Rohn.

Rohn tells their community members to not travel alone, to be aware of legal rights and resources should they face harassment, and to remain vigilant while in the state. 

Rohn says 21 other states are included in the warning, including South Dakota, and Iowa. 

The warning follows a travel advisory issued by the Human Rights Campaign.
