(Bismarck, ND) --  The North Dakota Supreme Court has upheld a verdict in the case of a Williston woman convicted of child abuse.

The attorney of unlicensed childcare provider Corey Gardner argued for acquittal, citing improper jury instructions and no proof beyond a reasonable doubt that she abused a child. However, the court announced on Wednesday that they found no evidence of error in the jury instructions, and had sufficient evidence for a conviction. As a result, the guilty verdict in her case will be upheld.
