(Richardton, ND) -- A man is in custody after authorities say he led enforcement on a high-speed chase though multiple counties in North Dakota.

The chase began with a report of a man stealing gas and merchandise from a gas station in Richardton. Sheriff's Deputies say they spotted the suspect's pickup but the driver, Robert McAloon (30, Minneapolis), refused to pull over, leading the officials on a chase though Stark and Billings counties that reached up to 100 miles-an-hour at times. The tires were deflated by spike strips, eventually crashing into a ravine in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Authorities say McAloon was arrested after a TASER was used.

McAloon faces charges including Driving Under Revocation, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Theft of Property. He currently is in custody at the Southwest Multi County Corrections Center.
