(Crookston, MN) -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating a crash that may have led to a vehicle entering the Red Lake River.

Authorities say the crash happened south of Crookston, with a witness saying the vehicle left the road near the north end of the Red Lake River bridge and entering the water. At this time, The Sheriff's Office says damage to the bridge is consistent with the witnesses's claim, but they have not found the vehicle in the river.

The type of vehicle, along with the number of potential occupants, is not known at this time.
