Minnesota lawmakers to advocate for insurance of infertility treatment

(St. Paul, MN)  --  Some Minnesota legislators are advocating for the state to be added to a growing list of states that require insurance coverage for infertility treatments.

Backers of the legislation plan to unveil the bill to the public today.

Supporters of the measure believe it will reduce the strain on families with a minimal impact on insurance premiums.

If passed, Minnesota would become the 22nd state to pass insurance coverage for the treatment of infertility.

The sponsor of the proposed bill is State Senator Erin Maye Quade of Apple Valley.
