(Grand Forks, ND) -- Grand Forks is hosting the robotics community for the annual Great Northern Regional Robotics Competition.

Fifty-four teams and more than 12 hundred people from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Canada will face off against one another in a series of tasks that will reward those on design skills, competitive robot performance, good sportsmanship, and examples of strong partnerships between schools, businesses, and communities.

The competition begins today at the Alerus Center.

Winning teams will go on to earn a spot at the international FIRST Championship next month in Houston.
