(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is preparing to unveil his 2024 budget proposal this afternoon.
This comes weeks after a forecast that shows a possible deficit in the coming years.
The forecast also showed a current surplus of three-point-seven billion dollars.
But the state budget office says most of the surplus will be wiped out by increased spending in the next two years if lawmakers don't make any adjustments.
