Five NDSU Bison have been named to the Phil Steele FCS All-America Team. The team is compiled by Phile Steele and the DraftScout.com staff. Fullback Hunter Luepke, left tackle Cody Mauch, and defensive end Spencer Waege were named to the first team, left guard Nash Jensen made the second team, and free safety Dawson Weber earned a spot on the fourth team.
A pair of Bison were also honored on the Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-America Team. defensive tackle Jaxon Duttenhefer was named to the second team, while Logan Kopp earned a spot on the third team.
Additionally, Luepke, Mauch, and Waege earned a spot on the Athlon Sports FCS All-America Team. North Dakota State is the only school with three honorees on the Athlon Sports’ 30-man team.
No. 3 North Dakota State (12-2) will square off with No. 1 South Dakota State (13-1) in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The game will take place on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ABC.
