GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota Men's Basketball team has promoted Estevan Sandoval to Assistant Coach. He has spent the previous two seasons as the Director of Basketball Operations with the program. Sandoval said, "I'm very excited for the opportunity to keep elevating the UND brand and basketball program. My family and I are extremely grateful to Coach Sather and the staff for the chance to keep building something special here in Grand Forks!"

Before coming to UND, Sandoval was part of the coaching staff at Western Texas College and Gilette College (Wyo.) for one year each. Recruiting, player development and scouting were among his responsibilities as part of those staffs.

Sandoval also spent six years with the program at New Mexico, both as a student manager and graduate assistant. While with the Lobos he helped in numerous areas including film breakdown, travel logistics, social media and video and working with the booster club and camps.

Coach Paul Sather added, "We're excited to promote Estevan to Assistant Coach. He has done an exceptional job as our Director of Basketball Operations and deserves this opportunity. His commitment to UND these past two years, his previous experience, attention to detail and love of the game make him an excellent fit for this role."
